with Intel Ignite, we are presenting #MLIRL - Machine learning in real life

Everyone is talking about applying ML to real-world use cases, but there’s very little sharing between teams actually doing the implementation. We want to change that by starting the #MLIRL event series. For the kickoff in Munich, we lined up speakers from Stanford, Microsoft AI, Bayer, Intel, and Infineon sharing how they take AI from the research lab into the real world.

Date: 9th of Feb 2022 Time: 18.00 CET Location: Remote

Why you should come

Exclusive insight

Learn how world-leading organizations similar to yours approach AI practically.

Practical knowledge sharing

There's a lot of information on how ML is done by researchers, but not much from the practical side. With this event, we're aiming to change that.

Participant participation

We are setting aside time for you to ask any questions you might have.

Completely free

The event is completely free to attend.

The speakers

  • Julia Gong

Applied Researcher at Microsoft AI and Adjunct Lecturer at Stanford

At Microsoft, Julia works on end-to-end computer vision problems. Before that, she was part of the Stanford MARVL research group bringing vision AI to the surgery room and the Adobe Research Lab, where she built state-of-the-art generative algorithms. In her free time, Julia creates awesome puns that are always good for a laugh.

  • Dr. Alexander Roth

Head of Engineering at Bayer Crop Protection Innovation Lab

Alex is a passionate engineer at heart that is always eager to discuss and exchange information on current topics in software and ML engineering. In his position in Bayer, he oversees the adoption and use of AI throughout Bayer Crop Sciences.

  • Dr. Liana Movsesyan

Smart Data Expert at Infineon Technologies AG

Liana has a background in physics. After finishing her studies, she was a researcher at the GSI Helmholtz Center and TU Darmstadt. Today, she's working at Infineon and is responsible for identifying and executing viable AI use cases.

  • Dr. Séverine Habert

AI Software Solutions Engineer Manager at Intel

Séverine has seen a lot of AI projects coming to life. After finishing her Ph.D. in medical computer vision applications at TU München, she joined Intel. There, she first was part of the infamous OpenVino team and now helps clients worldwide deploy AI applications successfully.
